This renovated former shearers’ quarters offers premium accommodation for up to 12 people in the Mid Canterbury High Country, in the heart of the South Island, New Zealand.
From the front lounge (view above) enjoy panoramic views across Lake Heron barely 20 metres away, and the magnificent surrounds of Mt Arrowsmith Station.
Mt Arrowsmith Station, nestled between the Arrowsmith Range and Lake Heron, and accessed through the Ashburton River Gorge, is one of Mid Canterbury’s original high country stations. The 8400 hectare property runs 13,000 stock units, primarily merino sheep, Angus cattle and red deer. Nearby is the film location for the city of Edoras, the home of the Rohan people in the Lord of the Rings film ‘The Two Towers’.
The owners of Arrowsmith Lodge are Mt Arrowsmith Station owners Philip and Wendy Wareing. They extend a warm welcome along with station managers, Eric and Sally Smith, to guests of Arrowsmith Lodge.
